PODS is a thriving and fun society, with a very diverse range of members aged 16 and upwards and spanning all backgrounds,

skills and talents, and a great friendly and sociable atmosphere.

We are now in rehearsals for our forthcoming production 'Guys and Dolls' and the familiar buzz and excitement of rehearsing and performing on stage is in full swing!

New members can come along to discuss membership at our 'handover night' which takes place after each show run has

finished, and sign up for auditions to join the next show and become a member.

ON STAGE

We are always looking for new members to join the society and would welcome anyone who would like to take part in our shows.

Whether you are experienced in singing, acting or dancing or you would like to give it a go for the first time!

Those with dance experience: ballet, modern, tap and jazz would also be most welcome to join our dance troupe or help out with the all important choreography of our spectacular routines.

OUR PRODUCTION TEAM & VOLUNTEERS

Every PODS show is a spectacular,

and our long history of producing top quality shows is well known and is a reputation that we work very hard to maintain.

Translating the Director's vision into the spectacular look, sound, and 'feel' of our shows is no accident.

It requires a very wide variety of skills behind the scenes, from planning at the very first production meeting; to dress making and fitting costumes;

sourcing props; designing and building sets and lighting schemes; transporting and placing sets; applying stage make-up on the night; to the action of show-night and ensuring that all of the set and props are in the right place at the right time, as the stage manager directs the backstage crew.

In addition to our production team we have a band of loyal and hard-working volunteers who assist us in providing refreshments, selling raffle tickets and programmes on show nights, and many more important jobs.

We have a great team of people who assist with all of this essential work and much, much more, but we are always on the

look-out for additional team members who would love to help out and share the satisfaction of putting on a fantastic show from behind the scenes !

Though not in the limelight these roles are absolutely vital to the success of a show, so if you have the skills and enthusiasm to support the production of PODS, or would like the opportunity to join the PODS family and learn what it takes to put on a show, please do get in touch.

We are also looking for new directors and producers for our shows, ideally individuals with some previous experience.

WHY NOT JOIN US

We normally perform two shows a year; one in June and one in December, and rehearsals take place on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at Number 8 Community Arts Centre in Pershore. On Wednesday evenings we are lucky to be able to rehearse on the stage in the main auditorium where we perform all of our shows.

Rehearsals for the summer show start in January and for the winter show in September.

In each December and June we hold a “handover” night where we say goodbye to the finished show and the excitement of the next show starts ! New members are encouraged to come along to this to get a taste of the show, meet the director and to sign up for the new member audition.

Auditions are held for new members who are asked to sing during their audition and on occasion dance as well. These new member auditions are usually held a few days before rehearsals commence for a new show.

YOUTH SOCIETY

The minimum age for PODS members is 16 years old, however Pershore also has a

thriving youth Society, PODYS.

The society really does value the support we receive from the local community and from local businesses, who have always taken a keen interest in the work that PODS do. We strive to create positive links within the community and with local businesses to mutually support one another.

From just £25 per show your business can advertise in our show programme, reaching an audience of nearly 2000 people each show week as well as the cast and crew who will also get to see your sponsorship support.
